2020 - Not What I Expected

Picture it, New Year's Eve 2019. Chatter is in the air about the end of one decade and the beginning of a new one.  Folks jumping on the New Vision bandwagon.

20/20 - The Year of Vision

Well, to quote an old TV character Gomer Pyle from the 1960s The Andy Griffith Show ...

Surprise Surprise Surprise!!!
(look it up on YouTube)

Please excuse my improper use of grammer, but I ain't never seen NOTHING like what we're living through now!

Masks are my new fashion accessory.

Masks are my new fashion accessory.

Who knew the world would literally be shaken?

As I type this:

Over 269,000 people in the United States have lost their lives to COVID-19

Men and women that look like me are being murdered in the streets, shot in their homes and shot in the back by people sworn to defend and protect them

Retailers that have existed for decades are filing bankruptcy or outright closing

Sports seasons have been jacked up

We're facing a second wave of COVID-19 on top of the regular flu season

I could go on, but I don't want this note to be depressing.

We're taught to plan and be prepared, but I've been told that if you want to make God sit back and laugh, make plans!! Now I don't think planning is a bad thing, but tomorrow is promised to no one. The Bible even says not to boast or brag about the next day because you don't know what the day will bring (Proverbs 27:1).

It took a pandemic for people to prioritize their moments. States shutting down caused us to spend time with those they live with. Families began cooking and eating together.

On a personal level, my social calendar dried up, and truth be told - I love it! I prefer an intimate circle, so a slow placed life is up my alley. I've had time to focus on my life and prioritize the necessary over the urgent.

All we have is right now. The present.

How are you handling your "right now?" How are you living and enjoying this moment? I want to know. Write me at chandra@solutionsbychandrallc.com or leave a comment.
