January is almost over. Can you believe it?

It’s the time of the year again for some much-needed reflection and introspection to set the right tone for the new year!

I’ve created my goals for 2021 and I want to share the biggest ones with you. There’s nothing like sharing your goals with a list of virtual friends to make sure I stay accountable and actually work towards completing them.

The first goal I have for 2021 is to create a special moment daily.

2020 taught me that plans may not go as I like.

There are some things you can plan for long term, but you have to allow for flexibility.  Life will happen and shake things up for the good and not so good. I’ve decided I will intentionally take time every day to do something I enjoy.  Something that will bring a smile to my face.  For example, after I post this entry I’m going to find something random on Hulu to watch.  Yes, actually enjoy the streaming service I pay for but have neglected.

The second goal I have for 2021 is to read at least 12 books.

I carried the love of reading from childhood into adulthood. However, with increased use of social media I’ve become a book slacker. I’ve decided I will read at least 1 book a month. Reading reduces stress, increases your vocabulary and will help your imagination grow. It’s just plain fun! I’m reading 3 books at the moment (yes 3). They are:

Get Ready To Fly: Preparing Your Soul To Soar by Pam Ross

Thinking Like a Boss: Uncover and Overcome the Lies Holding You Back from Success by Kate Crocco

Travel Guide to Port Charles: When to Go, Where to Live, Who to Love and Who to Never, Ever Cross in America's Most Dramatic City by Lucy Coe

The third goal I have for 2021 is to critique at least 1 resume weekly.

When was the last time you looked at or updated your resume? There is no judgment here – I looked at mine about a month ago.

When starting to apply for jobs, you need a resume reflecting your problem solving abilities. Want to help me reach my goal? Click here and let’s get started.

What about you?
